The Next 007 from the Running World

With Daniel Craig’s era as James Bond concluding with his film No Time To Die (which I highly recommend seeing), the question is being raised of who will fill his shoes as the next 007. Well, I have created a list of several runners who I think could fill this role.

Josh Kerr

The reigning Olympic 1500m bronze medalist fits this role to a "T." Kerr has the speed and endurance to chase down villains throughout every action scene of the movie. He might not have an Aston Martin, but his Tesla is another option for his Bond car. Kerr can even have his team fill in as the supporting actors with Coach Mackey playing his boss M and his CIA friend/counterpart could be played by his cohost and teammate, David Ribich. And lastly, his iconic folding chair could be turned into a secret gadget to help him get out of dangerous situations.

Sir Mo Farah

One of the greatest distance runners to represent Great Britain to date is another viable option for the role as James Bond. Farah is an icon in Great Britain for his record-breaking performances and four Olympic gold medals. His success on the track could help boost ticket sales across the globe as runners flock to movie theaters to watch one of the sports best chasing down criminals. It would be awesome to see his Bond character being knighted to bring his connection to the queen to the silver screen.

Marc Scott

Like Bond, Scott is one gritty person, someone who is not afraid to take the lead in a race or throw in a surge and go for the win. These attributes can be utilized in his Bond persona as someone who will push himself to the limit to save the world. Scott is another that could bring his American team with him into the films. With Coach Schumacher playing his M, his charismatic teammate Matthew Centrowitz as his Felix, and potentially having his other teammates playing small cameos throughout the films, Scott is a great match for the role.

Laura Muir

The runner/veterinarian is the last of my picks for the next 007. Muir can bring her ferocious kick on the track to her films as she chases someone through the streets and across rooftops like we’ve seen in Daniel Craig’s films. She also brings an interesting angle with her veterinarian background to the films, one that could include her character helping animals along with saving the world throughout the films.

Overall, any of these four would be a great replacement for Daniel Craig. If any movie writers are reading this article, these four would be outstanding candidates for James Bond. Who from the running world would be a great 007?
